Arlington Bluebell Walk Photographic Competition 2012


There are five classes:-

  • A - Close up of a plant seen on the Bluebell Walk
  • B - View from one of the Walks
  • C - Person/ people at the Bluebell Walk
  • D - Flora or fauna as seen on the Walks
  • E - Creative!

The competition is open to all, both amateur & professional with no entry fee, other than having paid to visit the Arlington Bluebell Walk.  Those who want to visit either before we open or after we close, can put their money in the honesty box at the entrance.

 

You can enter one or more classes but no more than three images per class.  The photos must have been taken at the 2012 Bluebell Walk.

 

Entries should be sent as a high quality print, colour or monochrome but no larger than A4 size and received by 1 June 2012.

 

Each image should be identified by a suggested image name, a brief description (max 100 characters), the class you are entering, where on the Walks it was taken and the photographer's name address and contact details.  If you want an email after judging stating how your photograph(s) have been rated, please enclose your email address.  If you want your photograph(s) returned this can only be done if you enclose with your entry suitable packaging and the correct postage.

 

The judges are a member of the Hailsham Photographic Society, the webmaster of www.bluebellwalk.co.uk  and John McCutchan.  Judging should be completed by 1 July and winning photographs will be published on our website as soon as possible afterwards and all prize winners should receive notification and their certificates by 1 August.

 

Prizes will be £20 for the first in each of the five classes, £10 for second in each class and the judges in their discretion may award highly commended certificates with a prize of a voucher, to give one person free entry to the 2013 Bluebell Walk.  One entry which may or may not be a winning photograph, will be chosen to be featured on the cover of our 2013 Publicity Leaflet and will receive a £20 prize.

 

Terms & Conditions Photographic Competition  

  1. The competition is open to all, both amateur and professional, who have paid to visit the Arlington Bluebell Walk. There is no additional competition entry fee.
  2. The photos must have been taken during the current year’s Arlington Bluebell Walk. All entries must be submitted by 1 June of the Competition year.
  3. Each entry must be sent as a print, and we accept no responsibility for entries that are lost or delayed.
  4.  Maximum size of each entry should not be larger than A4, they may be in colour or monochrome.
  5.  No prints will be returned after the competition unless you send a suitable envelope with your address and correct postage.  We would then attempt to return your entries, but this cannot be guaranteed so please ensure you keep a copy of the photograph(s) for your own records.
  6.  The image should be identified by writing on the back or using a sticky label, including a suggested image name, a brief description of up to 100 characters, the class entered, where and when it was taken and the photographer's name, address, telephone number and email if you require notification of any prizes won or not.  Care should be taken to ensure the front surface of the print is not damaged when writing on the back of the print.

  8. Any information provided to enter this competition will remain confidential to the Arlington Bluebell Walk and will not be made available to any third party without consent.
  9. The copyright remains with the photographer, although by entering the competition you authorise the Arlington Bluebell Walk to use your photo(s) (cropped as necessary) for any publicity or promotional purposes of the Arlington Bluebell Walk.  The photographs, where used, will be attributed to the photographer.  No other use will be made of any images submitted without the photographer's consent.
  10. Each entrant shall be deemed to warrant that they own the entire copyright in the work or that they have permission from the licensee and/or copyright owner/s for its use and where applicable, all necessary releases and clearances have been obtained, particularly with regard to any children under 16 included in the image.  The entrant undertakes to indemnify Arlington Bluebell Walk in respect of any breach of the same.
  11. Judging will take place in June/July of the competition year.  Prize-winners will be advised as soon as possible and certificates should be received by 1 August.
  12. Prizes will be £20 for first in each class, £10 for second in each class and any highly commended entries will receive a voucher for one person’s free entry in the forthcoming Bluebell Walk.  One entry which may or may not be a winning photograph will be chosen to be featured on the cover of the Publicity Leaflet for the following year and will receive a prize of £20. 
  13. Whilst the Arlington Bluebell Walk makes every effort to ensure that the publications of images are of the highest standard, we are unable to guarantee the quality of reproduction when shown on www.bluebellwalk.co.uk or displayed. 
  14. By entering our competitions you are deemed to have read and agreed with these Rules and Terms & Conditions.  Arlington Bluebell Walk reserves the right to cancel or amend the Competition or the Rules and Terms at any time without prior notice.  Any changes will be posted on www.bluebellwalk.co.uk within amended Terms & Conditions and on the competition details.
  15. The judges’ decision is final.
